6 months to 1 year ahead

• finalise the wedding date and have standby date ready - 1 june 2008, sunday
  
• decide on style of wedding - customary in the day, solemisation in the evening, banquet at night
  
• set the budget - no budget, spend all our $ =p
  
• select a suitable venue for the wedding
• shop for designs for wedding dress and accessories
• begin a diet and exercise regime - sure, trying very hard =p
  
• plan the honeymoon - mw has settled this.. i'm so glad.. =)
  

4 to 6 months ahead

• confirm wedding venue and arrange for a site visit - my house, his house, our home, banquet @ marina mandarin vanda ballroom
  
• book a licensed solemniser - found
  
• make wedding gown - needs dry-cleaning & ironing
  
• make evening gown - needs dry cleaning & ironing
  
• make tea dress - decide which to wear already
  
• buy accessories - hair, ears, neck, wrist, all have!
  
• prepare bethrothal gifts and dowry - =)
  
• purchase wedding bands and have them engraved - ready in january 2008
  
• select the hairstylist & make-up artist - cecilia ^_^
  
• select flower girls, bridesmaids & best men
• select emcees for the banquet
  
• discuss preparation duties
• decide on custom-made wedding stationery
  
• plan the desired entertainment request quotes and music selection - dear settle

• invite friends and family members to speak or perform at the wedding

• confirm all vendors and engage them in the wedding preparation
• reserve guestrooms for guests from overseas - none
  
• finalise the sequence of events for both the ceremony and reception
• finalise the wedding decoration with florist and wedding planners
• keep up your diet and exercise regime - haha
  
• print the wedding invitation cards - printed =)
  
• mail the wedding invitations - sent
  

1 to 2 months ahead

• file the notice of marriage (file after 1 march & before 10 may) - done
  
• confirm the wedding car rental, as well as the transportation for the guests
• test out make-up and hairstyle with stylist
• go for dress/suit fittings to ensure a perfect fit - yes, they fit! =)
  
• confirm attendance with overseas guests and arrange accommodation - none
  
• select thank you gifts for helpers and attendants
• check rsvps and finalise seating arrangements
• final fittings for wedding dress, ensure gowns and suits are ready on time
• schedule the wedding rehearsal and notify relevant parties
• finalise all wedding preparations against checklist
• practise walking in wedding shoes
• prepare wedding car decorations

1 to 2 weeks ahead

• rehearse the wedding ceremony
• collect gowns, dresses and suits
• work and confirm on the seating plan
• write the speeches and practice them
• prepare hand bouquet
  

1 day ahead

• get a manicure and pedicure
• squeeze in a relaxing massage
• prepare the final payments and hand them to persons assigned to issue them to relevant vendors
• hand over everything else to someone else who would get it done right
